A minor official by the name of Zhang Gui happened by. He cut through the crowd and noticed a man on the ground, drops of sweat rolling off his forehead.

In a bit, Li Four slowly regained consciousness. Zhang Gui asked him about every last detail, and upon hearing his story, his heart was filled with compassion. He helped him up and took him to his own home.

He grabbed him by the shoulder and helped him inside. He ordered his servants to bring out rice and tea to ease Li's hunger. The two men discussed the matter, and they were very much in agreement. Li Four told Zhang Gui that he wishes to go to the yamen to lodge a complaint.

"Who hurt you? Does he not know the name of Zhang Gui? I will have him arrested at once!"

As soon as Li said Lu Zhailang's name, Zhang Gui lost his composure. Zhang looked like he had his souls scared out of him, his hands waving, signalling denial.

"Hey! Shut your mouth at once! At once I say! If he learns of this, you may not keep your life!"

The two men spent some more time weighing their options and Zhang Gui tried to do his best to console Li Four. He recommended he return home as fast as possible. Li Four had no choice but to take a big gulp and go home.

As the couple were finishing cleaning the grave and were basking in the glory of the view, suddenly with great sounds rocks started flying into the yard from outside, and one of them hit Lady Li on the head.

Seeing this, Zhang Gui became livid. Raging, he ran outside, shouting curses without thinking.

"Which vile bastard with dirty hands dares to aim for the head of Mr. Zhang?"
